Many stories are found

There are many stories behind celebrating Ganesh Utsav. It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. Therefore this day is known as Ganesh Chaturthi. On the other hand, the story behind celebrating Ganesh Utsav for 10 days is that when Ved-Vyas ji requested Lord Ganesha to write the Mahabharata book, then Ganpati ji kept writing the Mahabharata without stopping for 10 days. When Ved-Vyas ji saw, they found that Ganesh ji’s temperature was very high and made him bathe in the river on the 10th day. Since then Ganesh Chaturthi is considered to be the beginning.

In how many days can immersion be done?

There is a tradition of celebrating Ganeshotsav for 10 days. The idol of Lord Ganesha is immersed on the day of Anant Chaturthi. But if you want, you can bring Bappa home for one and a half days to three, five, seven or 10 days. The same auspicious results are obtained as one gets by immersing Bappa on the day of Anant Chaturthi.
