Leopard attack: Farmer clashes with leopard to save calf in Surat

Prakash Chaudhary, a 35-year-old tribal farmer, clashed with a leopard to save a calf on Friday. Choudhary got injured during the encounter with the leopard. Seeing the matter worsening, his courageous wife Parvati attacked the leopard with an ax and saved her husband. Later the forest officials caught the injured leopard and admitted it to the veterinary hospital for treatment.

Leopard attack in Surat

Leopard attack: According to forest department officials, the incident took place in Ognisha village of Mangrol taluka in Surat district. At the time of the incident, Chaudhary was taking care of his cattle when a leopard came and attacked a calf. While trying to save his calf, Choudhary became the target of the leopard. To control Chaudhary, the leopard had caught hold of his head with both its paws.

Leopard attack: Village Sarpanch Soma Chaudhary said that seeing Prakash in trouble, his wife Parvati immediately ran to help him and hit the leopard on the head several times. After this the injured leopard went inside Prakash’s house and hid. After this, the farmer couple closed the door and imprisoned the leopard.

Leopard attack: After this, the village sarpanch with the help of other villagers informed the forest officials. Wankal Range forest officer Hiren Patel said, “We reached the spot and used dart guns to catch the leopard and later took it to the government veterinary hospital in Navsari for treatment. The six-year-old leopard suffered injuries on its neck and legs.” She has come.”

Leopard attack: Prakash also suffered injuries on his head, legs and hands. He was immediately taken to the Community Health Center at Zankhaav in Mangrol for first aid and later shifted to New Civil Hospital in Surat for additional medical care. However, Parvati escaped safely and is taking care of her husband.

Forest department sources said there are more than 22 leopards in Mangrol taluka of Surat district, which often hide in sugarcane crops and pose a threat to the cattle of nearby villages.
