The troubles of former Punjab Finance Minister and BJP leader Manpreet Singh Badal are not showing any signs of ending. The state vigilance department has registered a case against him in connection with alleged irregularities in the purchase of a property in Bathinda.
Today Punjab Police has issued a look-out circular against BJP leader Manpreet Singh Badal at all airports. Badal has already filed a pre-arrest bail petition. Big BJP leader in Punjab Manpreet Singh Badal has filed a pre-arrest bail petition, which was to be heard on September 26, but his lawyer has now withdrawn it and said that he will now file a bail plea after the first information report or FIR.
In which cases Badal is wanted
Apart from the Information Technology Act, an FIR has been registered against Manpreet Singh Badal under sections of the law relating to cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy and Section 13 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Punjab Vigilance Bureau had raided his residence in Sri Muktsar Sahib district yesterday.
Chief Minister lashes out at Badal
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann yesterday took a dig at Manpreet Singh Badal and said that those who claimed to be honest are now running from pillar to post to save themselves. “There is a huge difference between speaking the truth and sticking to it,” the Chief Minister said. He said, these leaders earlier used to say that they would wait for whatever action would be taken against them, but now they are demanding legal protection against arrest.
