According to the Hindu calendar, this year the Chaturthi tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start on September 18 at 12:39 pm and will end on September 19 at 01:43 pm. Due to Udayatithi being valid, this year the holy festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Tuesday, 19 September 2023. An auspicious coincidence of Ravi Yoga is also taking place on this day.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: According to astrologers, 19th September is considered very auspicious for the establishment of Ganesh. The exact and auspicious time for Ganesh Sthapana is from 11:01 am to 01:28 pm on September 19.

It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born during the midday period, hence afternoon time is considered more auspicious for Ganesha puja. According to the Hindu division of the day, Meridian is the same as noon according to English time. In the Madhyahna Muhurta, devotees perform Ganesha Puja with full rituals which is also known as Shodashopachar Ganapati Puja.
Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Ganesh idol installation method
1. Start with sprinkling Gangajal on the place and purify it.
2. After this, spread a red colored cloth on the post and keep it intact.
3. Install Lord Shri Ganesh’s idol on the place.
4. Now bathe the idol of Lord Ganesha and sprinkle Gangajal.
5. Place one betel nut on both sides of the idol of Lord Ganesha as a sign of Riddhi-Siddhi.
6. Place a pot filled with water on the right side of Lord Ganesha.
7. Meditate on Bappa with Akshat and flowers in your right hand.
8. Chant Lord Ganesha’s mantra Om Gan Ganpataye Namah.
Do not do moon sighting on Ganesh Chaturthi:
Refrain from moon sighting the day of Ganesh Chaturthi 2023. It is believed that seeing the moon on this day leads to false accusation or false stigma due to which the visitor has to bear false accusation of theft.
When will Ganeshotsav end:
Every year Ganeshotsav is concluded on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. This year Ganesh Utsav will conclude on Thursday, 28 September 2023. Ganesh immersion will be done across the country on this day itself.
