Leopard attack: According to forest department officials, the incident took place in Ognisha village of Mangrol taluka in Surat district. At the time of the incident, Chaudhary was taking care of his cattle when a leopard came and attacked a calf. While trying to save his calf, Choudhary became the target of the leopard. To control Chaudhary, the leopard had caught hold of his head with both its paws.

He was immediately taken to the Community Health Center at Zankhaav in Mangrol for first aid and later shifted to New Civil Hospital in Surat for additional medical care. Forest department sources said there are more than 22 leopards in Mangrol taluka of Surat district, which often hide in sugarcane crops and pose a threat to the cattle of nearby villages.
