Avadh Ojha: The tragic death of three Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants — Shreya Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), Nivin Dalwin (Kerala), and Tanya Soni (Telangana) — in Old Rajendra Nagar situated Rau’s Study Circle’s basement following waterlogging after heavy rains on Saturday night has triggered protests on the streets of the national capital. These students were studying in the library when the heart-wrenching incident took place. This has raised many questions about the facilities available at such coaching centres and the future of youths.
The police have arrested at least seven people including the owner of the institute Abhishek Gupta. A case has been registered against them for causing death by negligence. The preparation for the prestigious UPSC examination demands high concentration and toil hard efforts to crack. This forces students to live separately from their families and focus on their goals. This point is the opportunity for such coaching centres to make their “own future”.
Similarly, many so-called online teachers provide online coaching. Some big names include Khan Sir, Prof. Divya Kirti and Avadh Ojha.
Now, Avadh Ojha is trending on X (formerly Twitter) but what is the reason behind this? Is he anyhow responsible for the incident?
Actually, people are demanding a favour from these online gurus. People want them to stand with the families of deceased students and other protesters and ask for justice. Netizens are alleging that these online teachers have disappeared after the incident and want them to come forward to stand with the victims’ parents.
An X user said: “After this accident at “Old Rajinder Nagar” yesterday, 😱 ….Alakh Pandey sir, Khan sir, Vikas Divyakirti sir and Awadh Ojha sir have all suddenly disappeared somewhere…All these teachers were making their future in the name of the future of the children, but now when the children need them the most, they are nowhere to be seen…Be careful of people who work only for their own interests and do not care about the future of children.”
