Modi in Bihar today; unveils whopping ₹12,800 cr projects in Champaran

Modi in Bihar Today: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated projects worth ₹12,800 crore in West Champaran district of Bihar.

Addressing a rally in Bettiah, PM Modi stressed on the development taking place in Bihar due to the joint efforts of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Center and the Nitish Kumar-led NDA administration in the state.

Modi in Bihar Today: The Prime Minister said, “Under the double engine government, Bihar is rapidly regaining its former glory. Bihar has been a leader in the country for centuries. I am addressing the Vikas Bharat, Vikas Bihar program in Bettiah.”

Janata Dal (United) president Nitish Kumar was recently sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the ninth time and formed a new government with the BJP after leaving the ‘grand alliance’ and opposition party India Bloc.

Apologizing for coming late, PM Modi said, “I want to apologize for coming late. I was in Bengal, there is a different excitement there these days.”

Emphasizing the importance of Bihar’s development for a developed India, PM Modi announced schemes worth about ₹13,000 crore for Bihar.

Modi in Bihar Today: During this, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 109 km long Muzaffarpur-Motihari LPG pipeline of Indian Oil.

Through this pipeline, both Bihar and neighboring country Nepal will be able to get cooking fuel.

He also inaugurated an Indian Oil LPG bottling plant and storage terminal in Motihari, which will ensure supply of LPG cylinders to eight districts of Nepal and North Bihar.

Modi in Bihar Today: The railway projects inaugurated on Wednesday also included doubling of 62 km line from Bapudham Motihari to Piprahan and gauge conversion of Narkatiaganj-Gaunaha section.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for doubling and electrification of 96 km long Gorakhpur Cantt-Valmiki Nagar rail line and redevelopment of Bettiah railway station.

Apart from this, the Prime Minister flagged off two new trains on Narkatiaganj-Gaunaha and Raxaul-Jogbani routes.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi met a group of women from Sandeshkhali in West Bengal and also held a meeting over allegations of sexual exploitation against Trinamool Congress leaders in the area.

The meeting took place after a public rally in Barasat in North 24 Parganas district, where Sandeshkhali is located.
