With this revelation, speculations about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh entering the election fray have intensified.

BJP Candidate List 2024: According to sources, the BJP, in its strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, will leave six seats vacant in Uttar Pradesh for its alliance partners including Apna Dal, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhashpa) and Nishad Party. This division includes two seats each of Apna Dal and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and one seat each of SubhaSP and Nishad Party. According to this strategy, BJP has so far finalized its candidates for 56 seats.

It is likely that Prime Minister Modi will once again contest elections from Varanasi, while Home Minister Amit Shah will contest from Gandhinagar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh from Lucknow. On the other hand, Jyotiraditya Scindia may contest from Guna-Shivpuri, while other possible candidates include Subrata Pathak from Kannauj, Murali Dharan from Thiruvananthapuram Rural, Sukant Majumdar from Balurghat, Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur, Manushakh Mandaviya from Bhavnagar, Harish Dwivedi from Basti, Prahlad Joshi from Hubli. Shobha Karandlaje from Dharwad, Karnataka, Poonam Madam from Jamnagar and Fagan Singh Kulaste from Mandla can be candidates.

Other probable candidates include Rao Inderjit Singh from Gurugram, Sunita Duggal from Sirsa, Kamlesh Paswan from Bansi, SPS Baghel from Agra and Manoj Tiwari from North East Delhi.

Shafiqur Rahman Barq: Senior Samajwadi Party leader and Member of Parliament from Sambhal Lok Sabha constituency Shafiqur Rahman Barq breathed his last on Tuesday. He was 93 years old.

Burq was under treatment at a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. Barq was suffering from a long illness and was recently admitted to the hospital due to deteriorating health. Burq was the oldest member of the present Lok Sabha.

Four-time MLA Burq assumed Sambhal MP’s post in 2019. Recently, Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party had nominated him from Sambhal seat for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections but he died in the meantime.

Expressing grief over the demise of the senior leader, Akhilesh Yadav paid tribute to him through a social media post.

Burq attracted attention for his controversial statements on ‘Vande Mataram’ and his stance on Taliban control in Afghanistan.

In August 2021, he faced legal action for a controversial statement in which he drew parallels between the Taliban and India’s freedom fighters. He claimed that the Taliban was fighting for the independence of Afghanistan.
